Salary Range

The full salary range for this position is $84,200 to $140,300 annually. The target range for this position is $95,000 to 125,000 $ annually. We typically base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and leadership experience, education, and, in some cases, the candidate's work location.

 

 

This position will focus on the origination and project development of utility-scale renewable energy projects (primarily wind, solar and storage) across Canada with a focus on Western Canada. The individual will work with the Project Development team to identify and secure new sites, evaluate project acquisition and investment opportunities, bring contracted projects to a construction ready state and work with other members of the development team, to build the project portfolio and achieve corporate objectives. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Leading and coordinating key project development functions; permitting, landowner relations, stakeholder engagement, financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design review, project legal review, etc. 
  • Conduct site visits to project locations to meet with landowners, communities, First Nations, municipal officials, community leaders, etc.  
  • Use internal GIS tools to identify and greenfield new renewable project opportunities. 
  • Assist in the project planning process, internal communications, and business updates. 
  • Develop and manage annual regional and individual project budgets and schedules. 
  • Prepare, review and/or support requests for bids with a primary focus on opportunities in Canada. 
  • Support negotiations on behalf of EDF Renewables for the acquisition and development of renewable energy projects. 
  • Assist in development and maintenance of relationships with key landowners, community leaders, industry groups, business developers, regulatory and government bodies, and other potential contacts or agencies to assist the business. 
  • Conduct market research/analysis related to the renewable-energy market both nationally and internationally. 
  • Supporting project bid activities/requirements. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management staff or his/her designee. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience  

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in wind-energy, solar energy, energy storage or related energy organization/association. 

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities 

  • Previous experience working in renewables in BC or Western Canada is very desirable. 
  • Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management and unaffiliated third parties. 
  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as landowners, community leaders, government agencies and/or consultants. 
  • Experience developing renewable energy projects. 
  • Project management experience or the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously. 
  • Experience working with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft-software products. 
  • Experience with planning and siting of renewable energy projects and ability to use GIS software tools is an asset. 
  • Strong communications skills, demonstrating respect and transparency in all interactions. 
  • Clean driving license

Working Conditions:  

80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 20% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings
